Sunny skies and surf too
Hello Friends,
Friday started off with 10-15 kts of westerly cleaning up a 2 metre, 9 second NE swell under mostly sunny skies. There were a fair number of surfers in the water along the beach and at the point chasing chest high plus set waves. Water’s on 18C and apart from the lagoon entrances, is looking clean. First tide of the daylight hours is a 0.66m low at 1050. We’re back to high at 1720.
The wind’s due to settle around to the NW as the morning goes along and there’s a 60% chance of a shower from around midday on.

Great to see that according to the data posted at CovidLive, NSW is really smashing it on the vaccine front. We’re at 91% first doses for the 16+ age group and nearly 78% for second doses. In RealSurf’s Northern Beaches LGA, we’re at 92% first dosed and 82% second. Bloody brilliant result and proof positive that the anti-vaxxers are in a vanishingly small minority (something you wouldn’t expect from looking at click-baiting media coverage). So yay for us!
Weather Situation
A high is over the Tasman Sea and a complex low is over southeast Australia with the main centre now over Tasmania. A trough of low pressure extends from this low along the southern NSW coast, through Sydney and across the northern Tablelands. As the trough pushes off the NSW coast today winds will tend west to northwesterly throughout. The influence of the low should ease during Saturday before a ridge of high pressure extends across the state on Sunday.
