Photos: Prost! It’s Oktoberfest in the Bay Area
Munich may have taken another year off from hosting the world’s largest folk festival, but Oktoberfest season is well underway in the Bay Area.
Celebrants are already hoisting steins at Redwood City’s Oktoberfest, which runs through Sunday, Sept. 26, in Courthouse Square. Alameda’s Spiesekammer also will celebrate Sunday and again on Oct. 3.
Another traditional German restaurant, Teske’s Germania in San Jose, has scheduled live music for Fridays and Saturdays through Oct. 30.
The Peninsula Oktoberfest will be back on the Hiller Aviation Museum grounds Oct. 2.
And then there are major street festivals: Oaktoberfest in Oakland’s Dimond district on Oct. 9 and downtown Campbell’s Oktoberfest on Oct. 16-17.
