Lady Captain’s Charity Day raised over €5,000 for SOSAD
THERE was a great turnout in the clubhouse on Tuesday August 3, for the presentation of prizes for Lady Captain’s Charity Competition in aid of SOSAD.
Peter Nordon accepted the proceeds of the event, totalling over €5,000, on behalf of SOSAD. He spoke of the wonderful work the charity does in working tirelessly to raise awareness and help prevent suicide in Ireland.
He expressed his sincere gratitude to the Lady Captain and members of Dundalk Golf Club for raising such invaluable funds to support them. Sponsor Colette McCrory, of Dundalk Lighting, presented the beautiful prizes to the winners.
Prizes were also presented to the winners of the 18 hole Stableford Competition played on Saturday July 31 and Tuesday August 3. This was very generously sponsored by Mint Jewellers and attracted a large entry of 110 ladies.
Superb scores were returned in all categories, with Mary Carthy, Anne McArdle and Mary Cumiskey claiming category prizes. Worthy of special note was a fabulous score of 45 points returned by Anne McArdle, who expressed her delight at winning and thanked the sponsors for their support. Anne’s round included pars at three of the four par fives.
