Moment woman leans out of car window holding AK-47 assault rifle
A woman was spotted leaning out of the window of a car holding an assault rifle. The woman sat in the passenger seat of a moving Cadillac clutching an AK-47, in a scene that appeared straight out of the movies.
An image of the woman from the July 11 incident was shared by San Francisco Police Department Traffic Safety on Wednesday.
‘During an illegal exhibition of speed event at Barneveld & McKinnon, a passenger leaned out of a Cadi holding an AK47,’ the department tweeted. ‘SFPD Traffic Company personnel worked up a case, and seized this particular vehicle today.’
Speed exhibition is a crime under a California vehicle code, according to KRON4.
Law enforcement officials did not disclose whether the woman or anyone else was arrested in the incident. The department’s post also included an image of the same vehicle being towed away.
Twitter users were astonished by the unusual photo.
‘They were just filming a remake of the Matrix Reloaded,’ a social media user replied in the Twitter thread.
‘It is a pretty badass picture though,’ another Twitter user wrote.
Another Twitter user replied, ‘except for the lack of trigger discipline’, referring to the woman not keeping her finger away from the trigger guard.
Yet another Twitter user said: ‘And I thought CA had a ban on high cap magazines like that 30 rounder.’
San Francisco experienced 119 shootings in the first six months of this year, up from 58 during the same time period last year, according to Fox News.
‘We’re almost double where we were in the last two years, and that is a huge concern,’ San Francisco police Chief Bill Scott told reporters in July.
While viral videos have emerged from the northern California city of brazen shoplifting incidents, Scott at the time said robberies were down.
