James Waterson reports about the week’s tennis news. Rafael Nadal and other top players are back in action this weekend for Davis Cup! Despite losing to Novak Djokovic in a grueling four-hour US Open final Monday, Nadal won Spain’s first match against France in the semifinal when he beat Richard Gasquet 6-3, 6-0, 6-1. David Ferrer beat Gilles Simon to put Spain one match away from the final. Meanwhile, Djokovic withdrew from Serbia’s semifinal against Argentina because of a back injury, and the South Americans capitalized on his absence by taking a 2-0 lead.
