[Men's Basketball] Men's Basketball Struggles in Second Half, Falls to Skyhawks 83-64
LAURINBURG, N.C. – The St. Andrews men's basketball team hosted Point University on Saturday afternoon for an AAC matchup. The Knights fell to the Skyhawks with a score of 83-64.
How it Happened:
1st Half:
St. Andrews got out to a quick 6-point lead over Point University after Isaac Clay set the pace with a made 3-pointer on the Knights' first possession.
The Skyhawks took the lead with 13 minutes remaining in the first half, 15-14. The lead was short lived for Point as the Knights went on a 6-point run and forced a Point University timeout, posting a 21-16 lead.
The first half was tied three additional times in the remaining 3 minutes before going into halftime with a score of 35-32 with the Skyhawks leading.
2nd Half:
The Knights struggled offensively in the first two minutes of the half as they did not hit a shot until 3 minutes into the half, making the score 41-34. Point created a 12-point lead with 16 minutes remaining on the clock.
St. Andrews closed in on the Skyhawks' with a two-pointer by Ahmed Gustave to make the score 62-53 with 5:30 on the clock.
Back-to-back baskets extended Point's lead back to double-digits, 66-53.
The Point offense remained hot for the remainder of the game, winning 83-64.
St. Andrews struggled from the free throw line, shooting 9-23 and 5-22 from the three-point line.
Knights Leaders:
Myron Williams led the Knights' offense with 15 points, followed by Isaac Clay's 14 points.
Williams also led defensively with 7 rebounds with XZavier McFadden close behind with 6.

The St. Andrews men's basketball team will next travel to UNC-Wilmington for an exhibition game on December 9th.
