Gareth Bale scores first goal for Tottenham since May 2013 with old Real Madrid pal Reguilon providing pinpoint assist
GARETH BALE headed his first Tottenham goal since May 2013 just three minutes after arriving as a sensational sub at home to Brighton.
And it was fellow recruit from Real Madrid Sergio Reguilon who provided the pinpoint assist for Bale to nod Spurs back in front at 2-1.
And even before Bale’s 73rd minute header he had teed up Harry Kane for an incredible miss.
Kane’s early penalty had put Spurs in front, only for Tariq Lamptey to drill Brighton level on 56 minutes.
And Tottenham looked shaky after that – until Bale stepped on and up to the plate.
Delighted Spurs fans hailed Bale’s instant impact, one saying: “Better than Mane” and another claiming: “I knew it – yesssssss!”
Victory from a below-par but Bale-charged performance put Jose Mourinho’s men second behind Liverpool.
