5 Busted over Multiple Charges in Samangan
SAMANGAN, Afghanistan – Afghan National Police arrested at least five suspects charged with kidnapping, murder and possessing undocumented arms in Samangan province of central Afghanistan, the Ministry of Interior Affairs said in a statement Tuesday.
The statement did not provide further details on the identities of the suspects, but said their cases have been referred to the “relevant authorities for further” investigation.
“ANP has arrested five people on charges of kidnapping, murder & carrying illegal weapon in Samangan province,” said MoIA in a tweet. “ANP has referred the cases to relevant authorities for further process.”
Arrest came at a time Acting Minister of the Interior Massoud Andarabi gave a “shoot” order to local police throughout Afghanistan if any suspected criminal tend to defy security forces during their operation.
This initiative is in an attempt to further strengthen security measures nationwide, fowling a wide-spread concern over armed robberies and kidnaping of the citizen in provinces, including the Afghan capital Kabul.
