Extremely comfortable tights from an emerging startup

One of my favorite pairs of tights are these soft, comfortable, and durable ones from a new brand called Heist. I like that it comes in both mid and high waistbands, neither of which roll or twist into my skin and make me regret putting on tights that morning. It's made of a super-soft and machine-washable Merino wool and comes in five nice, neutral colors. It has a subtle shawl collar that lends it more structure and a kimono-inspired silhouette that looks good whether you wrap the tie around your waist, leave it undone, or tie it up in the back. I tend to wear mine open.

$70 jeans that sculpt your legs and don't bag out

Let me begin by saying that I am extremely picky when it comes to jeans, and that I didn't want to like Everlane's Authentic Stretch denim. (People loved Everlane's debut denim line, I did not). However, I've come to rely on my own black pair more than any other in my closet for work, weekends, and even plane rides— I could perform an Olympic gymnastics routine and they would retain their shape. Plus, they look amazing on — sculpting and slimming. I fluctuate between a size 26 and 27 and I'm glad I got the 26 in these. No-break-in ankle boots with a pointy toe

Elastic side panels relax the 4.5-inch shaft of these boots so they're easy to put on and take off. The panels also increase the flexibility of the boot so that it moves with the natural motion of your feet when you walk. I can easily put in 12-hour days in these boots with absolutely no pain or discomfort. I was initially concerned that the boot's pointy toe would result in a narrow fit, but that wasn't the case for me. I wear this Patagonia sweater as often as humanly possible in the fall and winter. It was the first piece of clothing I ever tried from Patagonia (we always remember our firsts!) and it started a lifelong obsession with the brand's cozy sweaters. This one is incredibly soft and comfortable, and the snap-T front lets me open it up for some breathing room if I get too overheated while laying around on the couch. As far as sizing goes, I sized up to make sure it would be roomy, which I highly recommend doing. A puffer jacket that actually keeps you warm

The Super Puff Long, available at Aritzia, $350

Aritzia's famous Super Puff coat has become its own brand within a brand, and it's not just because it looks cool. It's actually the best winter coat I've ever owned. It fits really well: The arms aren't super long or bulky, the coat isn't weirdly tight in the armpits, the way it falls doesn't make it look like an A-line dress). And, most importantly, it actually keeps me warm in windy, freezing cold weather. 

The one downside is that it holds onto a bit of moisture, so I try not to wear it when it snows, but that has more to do with the material finish I chose than the coat itself. They look just like Hunter's regular rain boots but they feature a vegan sherpa lining that's warm and toasty even on slushy, snowy, or icy days out and about. I also put shearling insoles in my boots for additional warmth as the weather gets colder, so I can stretch their utility from season to season.
