Boy, 4, flung in air and teen, 13, injured after car mounts pavement in Wolverhampton hit-and-run
TWO boys aged four and 13 have been injured after a car mounted a pavement and ploughed into them in a horror smash.
The boys were walking in Wolverhampton and around 3pm today when they were mown down by the vehicle.
The car then smashed into a parked car before fleeing the scene in the hit-and-run crash.
The four-year-old was flung in the air and was rushed to hospital with a suspected broken leg, police confirmed.
His mum was also injured in the collision, while the teen – a friend of the toddler’s brother – suffered cuts and bruises.
Police are now urgently hunting the driver and believe they were in a bright-coloured Ford Fiesta.
Detective Sergeant Louise Stafford, from Force CID, said: “This was a shocking incident where two young boys were fortunate not to have suffered significantly more serious injuries.
“The driver of the car would have known that he had struck them and yet still left the scene with no thought for their welfare.
