UFC legend Chuck Liddell fancies a run in WWE after starring alongside AEW star Jon Moxley in new film
CHUCK LIDDELL fancies a run in professional wrestling after starring in a film with ex-WWE and current AEW hero Jon Moxley.
The MMA legend and UFC hall-of-famer enjoyed 30 fights across a handful of promotions but finally hung up his gloves after his 2018 loss to old enemy Tito Ortiz.
The 50-year-old Iceman has been branching into TV and film work, with his latest project CageFighter: Worlds Collide merging martial arts and pro wrestling.
And the octagon veteran is interested in following similar paths to the ones walked by UFC-WWE crossover successes Ronda Rousey and Cain Valasquez.
Liddell said: “Professional wrestling is something that interests me, mixed martial artists have been working very well in both industries for a long time and there has been a real spike in it recently.
“After lockdown, when the shows get on the road again, I am not sure if I would want to do all the travelling that the guys do.
“But if one of the companies thinks they have a cameo idea for me and want to get in touch then I would definitely consider it.”
While AEW and WWE have kept up behind-closed-doors shows in scaled-down studios, MMA has been shut down completely.
The long overdue bout between Khabib Nurmagomedov and Tony Ferguson was scheduled for April 18 but the Covid-19 pandemic and resulting travel restrictions kiboshed the clash again.

It is the FIFTH time the bout between the Russian wrestler and American striker has been cancelled, after injuries plagued the earlier meetings.
Ferguson kept up his weight-cutting campaign to make the 155lbs lightweight limit, while Khabib did not reveal his scales.
But Liddell is starting to worry, like the rest of the MMA world, that this spectacular showdown is cursed.
He said: “It’s the fight everyone has been waiting to see for so long, every time we get close to it, it seems something bad comes along to block it.
“You cannot help wonder if it is meant to be but I am sure the UFC will be working extremely hard to get the fight made on the soonest show possible.”
