Oakland: Reward increases in case of man who went missing in May
OAKLAND — A family’s reward for information in the disappearance of a 20-year-old man who went missing in May is increasing to $10,000 as they search for answers.
Jonathan Bandabaila was last seen May 3 when he left his home to drive to a soccer tournament. The next day his 1998 silver Honda Accord was found parked in westbound lanes of the Hayward-San Mateo Bridge with items like his soccer gear and a change of clothes still inside.
At a September news conference, Oakland police Chief of Police Anne Kirkpatrick said the case was still open “and that it will not be closed until we know what happened to Jonathan.” Deputy Chief Oliver Cunningham said investigators “are looking at every pathway” and are optimistic about the case.
Oakland police on Sunday asked anyone with information on Bandabaila’s whereabouts to call investigators at 510-238-3641.
