Everything We Know About ‘The Masked Singer’ Season 3 – So Far
It’s been less than two weeks since Season 2 of Fox’s smash-hit singing competition “The Masked Singer” crowned its winner (Congrats Wayne Brady a.k.a. The Fox) and already fans are getting clues about what to expect when the whosungit series premieres its third season in just over a month.
And while we don’t know everything yet, TheWrap has gathered enough details about Season 3 to share them with you, dear readers.
1. When does it premiere?
Though it really doesn’t need the ratings boost, “The Masked Singer” Season 3 has the honor of debuting immediately after Super Bowl LIV on Sunday, Feb. Following its premiere in the coveted post-game slot, the show will air its next episode on Wednesday, Feb. 5 at 8/7c and then continue on that night and time — the same one it had this fall — for the rest of Season 3.

2. Who is hosting and who are the judges?
Don’t worry, your standard team is still intact for Season 3: Nick Cannon will be returning as host and Ken Jeong, Nicole Scherzinger, Robin Thicke and Jenny McCarthy will once again serve as the show’s panelists.
3. Who are the guest judges?
We have no clue yet. Per Fox, “Season 3 promises celebrity guest panelists in many episodes, but none are able to be announced just yet.” So we’ll keep you posted as soon as we know if Joel McHale, Anthony Anderson and Triumph the Insult Comic Dog will be back — and what new faces we might see in the guest judge seat.
4. How many celebrities are competing this time?
In Season 1, “The Masked Singer” had 12 celebrity contestants competing. For Season 2, 16 contestants competed. In Season 3, the show will boast its largest lineup yet: 18 masked competitors.

5. What costumes have been revealed so far?
Through social media posts, the first Season 3 promo and some new key art (see above), Fox has revealed these six new costumes: The Banana, The Llama, Miss Monster, The Frog, The Mouse and The Robot.
6. Will the show’s format see any changes, like the “SmackDown” rounds that were added for Season 2?
According to Fox, “The format will be changing slightly in season three.” “The contestants will be split into three groups of six – Group A, B, and C. Group A will kick off the first three episodes as they whittle down from 6 to 3 singers,” per the network. “Then we will meet Group B as they go from 6 to 3, then Group C. The final 9 contestants from these three groups will then come together and battle it out the rest of the season for the golden mask trophy. As always, one celebrity will still be unmasked in every episode, including the premiere.”
“The Masked Singer” Season 3 premieres Sunday, Feb. 2 immediately after the Super Bowl on Fox.
