Leeds United Chat • Re: Eddie Nketiah
Its got to the point where i feel sorry for Eddie.
Clearly talented, clearly has potential, clearly doesnt fit the style of play.
MB has already said that, Eddie doesn't fit the system.
We dont have time to train him up and it isnt fair on Eddie because i very much doubt Orta told him this when he did the powerpoint presentation.
In effect we are spending a hell of a lot of money (i doubt we have much change from the £5mil we got for Roofe given the competition for Eddie), we are paying Arsenal to do their coaching for them on a player who doesnt fit what the manager wants yet.
Brings up a lot of questions.
Why spend so much money on a player who doesnt fit the system?
Did MB want Eddie or was this Orta?
What did Orta tell Arsenal?
What did Orta tell MB?
Its not that Eddie is a bad player, in a different team playing a different system he would be a valuable asset and he has earned us some points down to being a talented player and what he does, being pacey and having a natural instinct for goals.
But Eddie seemed an odd fit after Roofe went, even more odd when you consider the other player was Ryan Kent, a totally different player.
So what was the thought process? How do you go from wanting one player to someone totally different and who decided that?
Id like us to keep Eddie plus getting someone more able to play in the 10 role.
But i just dont get why we signed Eddie harsh as that sounds.
