Berlin Christmas market evacuated in ‘bomb alert’ as two Syrians arrested three years after ISIS truck rampage killed 12
TWO Islamist terror suspects have been arrested after a bomb alert at a Christmas market in Berlin.
The Berlin cops evacuated the Christmas market on Breitscheidplatz tonight amid the terror fears.
One of the alleged terror nuts is said to be Syrian and lives in North Rhine-Westphalia.
The second suspect being sought in the United States over arrest warrants for explosives.
According to BILD information, the two arrested are said to be Syrians who have experience with explosives.
Cops said all visitors have left the Christmas market “calm and prudent”.
An event in the Kaiser Wilhelm Memorial Church was also shut down and the site is currently being searched.
The police said on Twitter: “Our colleagues are currently at the Breitscheidplatz Christmas market and are clearing it to investigate any suspicious items.”
