Fears Days of Our Lives will be cancelled as the stars – including Jennifer Aniston’s dad – are freed from contract

Ratings for the series have dwindled as soap operas continue to struggle[/caption]
Although the show hasn’t officially been cancelled, the network will decide the show’s fate in early 2020.
Fans of Days can find solace in a silver lining: since the show is filmed eight months in advance, there are enough episodes to air through Summer 2020.
The glum news casts a spotlight on the struggling soap opera, whose ratings have declined in recent years as the genre continues to dwindle.
NBC’s last remaining soap opera began in 1965 and has featured multiple Hollywood heavy-hitters in its nearly 55 years on air.
Pamela Anderson, Jensen Ackles, Mila Kunis, Kathie Lee Gifford, and even “Wheel of Fortune” host Pat Sajak have all made early career appearances or starred on the show.
