News of Steph Curry’s surgery greeted by shock, dismay, half-hearted jokes
Fans, observers and the NBA community barely had time to digest the fact that Stephen Curry was going to miss playing time after suffering an injury to his left hand during a game against Phoenix on Wednesday night.
On Friday came another bombshell. The Warriors announced that Curry had surgery to repair his left hand and will be reevaluated in three months. He could miss 45 games.
Dr. Steven Shin — who performed surgery on Steph Curry's left hand — also did procedure on Drew Brees' broken thumb. For Curry, significant part of return depends on ability to take hit on hand and not re-injure it. This is truly 3-4 month timeline to make sure bone fully heals

The first thought on many people’s minds: The Warriors are going to absolutely stink this year without him (and Klay Thompson and Kevin Durant).

For the next 3 months (at least) the Golden State #Warriors will be doling out nearly $900,000 PER GAME to injured & unavailable stars Steph Curry & Klay Thompson.https://t.co/jUREIz7VdN pic.twitter.com/wSjgkEe7G9

The Warriors are on national TV 30 times this season. Can’t blame the decision, Steph is always a ratings draw. But man, we’re getting so much Omari Spellman.

While it’s likely to be an abysmal three months for watching the Warriors, there may be a silver lining: If the team is bad, the odds of adding talent through a top draft pick are good.
Steph Curry is out for at least three months. A Top 5-7 pick for the Warriors is very much in play

Remaining Warriors star Draymond Green’s first reaction was sympathy for his teammate as a human and a father.
“I worry about the Steph that can’t pick up (his son Canon),” Green told reporters Friday morning. “The Steph that can’t toss (daughters) Riley and Ryan around.”
Heartfelt comments from Draymond Green on Stephen Curry, who the #Warriors have just announced will miss at least three months.
