WBSC Premier12 down to four nations as semifinals schedule announced for Global Championship

<p>TAIPEI CITY — The inaugural WBSC Premier12, which brings together baseball’s Top 12 nations, is set to enter the semifinal stage following Monday’s quarterfinals in Taipei and Taichung, Taiwan.</p>
<p>Eight of the twelve ‘premier’ nations — and all six in Group A — have been eliminated from the global flagship tournament, with world No. 1 Japan, No. 2 United States, No. 8 South Korea and No. 12 Mexico advancing to the Tokyo Dome in Japan, where the semifinals, bronze medal match and championship finale will all take place.</p>

<p>Prize Money Distribution</p>
<p>For qualifying into the 2015 WBSC Premier12 and having been eliminated after the opening round, Chinese Taipei, Dominican Republic, Italy and Venezuela will be awarded $US 150,000 each. Having advanced to the quarterfinals, Canada, Cuba, Netherlands and Puerto Rico will each receive $US 225,000.</p>
<p>Prize money among the final four Premier12 nations will be distributed as such (in USD):</p>
