Patrick Eble
After spending 4 years rowing in the strong Princeton program, Patrick Eble (Blue, 2017) came to Cambridge to study Environmental Policy. Studying at Cambridge gave Patrick the opportunity to build on his Princeton education, which included IRA All-Academic status and Dean’s List achievements, and prepare him for Senior World Championship medals.
“Coming into my time at Cambridge, I was expecting to have access to a world-class education and to train with an elite boat club. What I found was that the whole experience exceeded my expectations by a mile. The ability to attend classes at such an esteemed University and then in the same day to row at the world-class facilities in Ely is second to none. The academic and athletic pursuits really complement each other and I am grateful that I had the opportunity to pursue both.

After my time at CUBC, I was fortunate to join the US National Team and stroke the Men's 8+ in the 2017 and 2018 World Championships. The physical and technical gains that I was able to make over the course of my time rowing at Cambridge were key in making the jump to the Senior level. The experience of training and racing in the Boat Race with such a dedicated group of athletes and coaches allowed me to make strides in my athletic development that I never thought were possible. On top of the miles on the water and the hours in the gym, my whole experience was spent with really great people and that is what made my time at Cambridge stand out.”
Pat is currently combining his schedule as an athlete with the US National Team with work as an Investment Associate with Alpine Investment in San Francisco.
