Google the Friends characters Phoebe, Ross, Rachel, Joey, Monica or Chandler for hilarious hidden Easter Eggs
AHEAD of its 25th anniversary, Google is dedicating an Easter Egg hunt to all the loyal Friends fans around the world.
All six of the famous characters from the hit sitcom have received their very own Easter Egg on Google’s search engine, but how does it work? Here’s all you need to know…
How does the Friends Easter Egg work on Google?
A simple search of any of the main characters from Friends will bring up a small emoji-sized icon under the fact box on the right-hand side of the screen.
For example, typing Phoebe Buffay in Google’s search engine will bring up a guitar, and it’s not hard to guess why.
Clicking the icon will see a cat emerging on your desktop screen as it walks back and forth while Phoebe is heard in the background singing her classic Smelly Cat song.
Typing Monica Geller in Google brings up a small soapy bucket-shaped icon and, just as you would have previously done, hit the button to see what Easter Egg is hiding on the search results page.
Upon clicking the soapy bucket, Monica’s fact box receives a good clean – which we’re sure would have been much to the character’s satisfaction.
In case you don’t recall – or you’ve simply forgotten after all these years – nobody cleans an apartment quite like Monica does, so the Easter Egg made perfect sense.
Try the same process for the other character – Rachel Green, Joey Tribbiani Chandler Bing and Ross Geller – and you’ll be surprised with a different icon referencing a unique trait of theirs from the show.
What has the Friends cast said about the show’s 25th anniversary?
There’s no denying that Friends still carries as much relevance today as it did when it first premiered on NBC 25 years ago.
It became a monumental staple for the network, earning the cast millions and ultimately becoming one of the most popular sitcoms ever created.
To mark the 25th anniversary, Courteney Cox, Lisa Kudrow, Matt LeBlanc and David Schwimmer all took to their social media accounts to post some very heartfelt tributes.
“Celebrating a Thursday night 25 years ago,” Schwimmer gushed to his followers. “THANK YOU to all the fans out there!! We couldn’t have done it without you.”

Lisa continued: “We might be in different places but we are connected,” while her former co-star LeBlanc shared: “Seems like yesterday. Thanks to all the fans for watching.”
Courteney also dedicated her tribute to the fans before jokingly taking aim at Jennifer Aniston and Matthew Perry, who both refrain from the use of social media.
She wrote: “You’ve certainly been there for us,” going on to post the hashtags: “#seriouslyjen?” and “#youtoomatthew.”
Friends premiered its first series on NBC on September 22, 1994 and went on to have a successful run with 10 seasons before it concluded on May 6, 2004.
