A STAGGERING £206million worth of kitties were lost on stag and hen dos last year, according to new research.
A nationwide study has found that a third of pre-wedding revellers admit they have misplaced the pot of cash, while 35 percent claim they’ve had the money stolen during celebrations with the bride or groom to be.
Fancy dress was cited as the biggest cause of missing money – with 38 per cent blaming a lack of pockets in their stag or hen costumes.
Moving locations also led to parties being down on funds, with 20 percent saying the cash had vanished due to moving venue and almost a quarter saying miscommunication was to blame.
The survey of 2,000 18-40 year-olds, which was carried out by the social money app Pingit, also revealed the total number of lost kitties amounts to a staggering £206million each year.
Men contribute an average of £104 to each stag do kitty, compared to the £68 that women spend on hens.
The average hen or stag do kitty is worth a massive £928, so it is no surprise that nearly three quarters of Brits (73 percent) said they hate being the one left looking after the cash.
In total the average man forks out £7,997 across 11 stag dos in their lifetime while women enjoy ten hens at a cost of £5,510.
