Stehlin Powers Clams to Victory
The Edenton Steamers routed the Martinsville Mustangs 14-6 Saturday night at Historic Hicks Field.
The Clams launched four homeruns for the second time this season.
Jack Eisenbarger was on the bump and delivered six innings with eight strikeouts as he picked up win number two of the season.
Anthony Stehlin lead the charge with two homeruns as the Concord University product collected his first four-hit game of the season.
Mason Holt hit his first longball of the season as he drove in four runs and stole two bases.
Quincy Hamilton left the yard with his team-leading ninth homerun. Hamilton had two RBI on the night to bring his season total to 40 which leads the CPL.
Marc Ochoa contributed with a 2-for-3 performance while also driving in three runs.
LHP Alex Theis struck out the side in the 8th inning.
The Clams did not commit an error and moved to 9-7 this season when they are perfect in the field.
Edenton moves to 5-2 on the year against Martinsville and will face the Mustangs one more time this season.
The Steamers have 44 homeruns on the year which is good for second best in the CPL.
