Hamilton Homers Twice; Clams Rout Tobs

Quincy Hamilton continued his red-hot tear as he hit two homeruns and drove in 5 to lead the Edenton Steamers to a 17-5 run-rule victory over the Wilson Tobs.
It marks the second time this year that Edenton has run-ruled an opponent.
The Steamers jumped out to an early four run lead in the bottom of the first behind a 3-run shot by Hamilton.
The Wright State product went 4-for-4, scored five runs and increased his CPL leading RBI total to 45.
Hamilton also became the first Steamer to reach double figures in homeruns this season. He now sits at 11 for the year, tied for first in the CPL.
Blake Beers got the start and picked up his first win of the season. The right-hander struck out four in five innings of work.
Kross Robinson tossed two scoreless innings in relief while striking out five.
Wilson’s starter, Nate Fiala was chased after three innings and allowed a season-high seven runs. Coming into the start, Fiala had allowed five runs in 22 innings.
The 17 runs scored is a season-high for Edenton, surpassing their 16 run output from June 4th. It is the 8th time this year that the Clams have scored in double figures.
It is the 18th time this year that the Teal and Black collected double digit hits.
The Steamers have had a player hit two homeruns in back-to-back games for the second time this season.
Edenton is now 5-3 this year against the Tobs and sit 1 game up on Peninsula.
Up next, the Clams travel to War Memorial Stadium on Tuesday for the final time this year as they take on the Pilots.
