First mum in Britain to have 10 boys in row finally welcomes baby girl
Britain’s first mum to have 10 sons in a row has finally welcomed a baby girl.
Alexis Brett, 39, was so convinced she would be having another boy she almost didn’t ask the sonographer for the gender of her 11th child.
But she and husband Davie were ‘gobsmacked’ to discover they would be having their first daughter, stating that it is a ‘lovely way’ to complete the family.
She said: ‘We are absolutely in love with her. The whole family is besotted.
‘Whenever we have brought a new baby home, the family is thrilled and want to help, but this time the boys have been even more excited.
‘They are desperate to help out and want to do everything for her. Everyone wants to help put her in pretty dresses and her brothers are very protective of her.’
Alexis and Davie, who live in Inverness, are already parents to Campbell, 17, Harrison, 16, Corey, 14, Lachlan, 11, Brodie, nine, Brahn, eight, Hunter, six, Mack, five, Blake, three, and Rothagaidh, two.
The couple have named their newest addition Cameron, stating that they chose the name 17 weeks into the pregnancy.

Alexis, a former nurse who now works as a fitness instructor, said: ‘I just didn’t really think we were capable of making a girl.
‘We barely thought it was worth finding out the gender, because it’s the same every time.
‘We decided to do a little gender reveal for the family though, as they boys were so excited – when we opened the envelope and found out we were having a girl, I thought they’d got it wrong.
‘It would have been just as exciting to have another son, because I love having boys – but I am thrilled that I’m not quite so outnumbered at home any more.’
The family are already noticing differences in looking after Cameron, compared with 17 years of raising boys.
Alexis stated that she is ‘already worried about learning to plait hair’ and is enjoying choosing ‘girly outfits’ for her daughter.
Together, she and Davie, a train driver who also suffers from early onset Parkinson’s Disease, must do two big shops a week to ensure the household has enough to eat.

The family go through six pints of milk and two loaves of bread a day and require two double sized fridges to store all their food.
But despite the hard work of looking after a newborn, Alexis is already making plans to go back to work, stating that she tries to plan her classes around the children’s routine.
Alexis said: ‘We’re definitely not having any more. I will turn 40 this year, and Davie’s condition does mean that we do sometimes find it hard going.’
She added: ‘Lots of people assume we have had so many children because we have kept trying for a girl but that’s absolutely not the case.’
