Bruno Mars Addresses Rumor of Gambling Debt on First Night of New Tour
One of the hottest tickets in town in 2026 is without a doubt to the new Bruno Mars’ The Romantic Tour. Having not done a solo tour of this magnitude since 2017’s 24K Magic World Tour back in 2017, fans have eagerly been waiting to see the Grammy-winning pop sensation return to the stage, which officially happened on April 10 at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas.
Now, during the first stop of his tour, Mars, of course, delivered a good performance, and the concert experience was elevated even more with a Silk Sonic reunion, thanks to Anderson .Paak taking to the stage. However, what also made the night extra interesting was the moment in which Mars shockingly addressed the years of rumors swirling that he owed a gambling debt to a casino.
MGM Has Long Denied Bruno Mars Owed a Debt
Back in 2024, a NewsNation story prompted many to gasp, as it reported that Mars racked up a $50 million gambling debt with the famous MGM. As the rumor gained traction, MGM Resorts International eventually addressed it, noting:
“We’re proud of our relationship with Bruno Mars, one of the world’s most thrilling and dynamic performers. From his shows at Dolby Live at Park MGM to the new Pinky Ring lounge at Bellagio, Bruno’s band of entertainment attracts visitors from around the globe.
“MGM and Bruno’s partnership is longstanding and rooted in mutual respect. Any speculation otherwise is completely false; he has no debt with MGM.”
The “That’s What I Like” singer himself has rarely addressed the rumor of a gambling debt head-on. Although, in 2025, after popping out for a BLACKPINK performance, Mars did post on Instagram the following message, which was certainly to troll those believing he owed MGM millions.
Bruno Mars Addresses Rumors on Stage
Fast forward to the first stop of The Romantic Tour, and during a portion of the concert when Anderson .Paak reunited with Mars to perform a few Silk Sonic tracks, Paak jokes, “I hate to make this about me, but when I think about how much debt, I mean how many steps it took to get here, I get emotional.”
The cheeky remark didn’t go unnoticed by Mars, who chuckled upon hearing it on stage. Mars later replied, “Andy, I’m sorry you’re going through all that. See I’m debt-free, I paid the casino off a long time ago.” The crowd then erupted in a roar of applause. Check out the clip below.
