Teddi Mellencamp Reveals She's Dating Older Man Amid Cancer Battle

Teddi Mellencamp is sharing a big update on her love life!

During the Thursday (April 8) episode of her Two Ts in a Pod podcast, the 44-year-old former Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star revealed that she’s dating an older man amid her ongoing stage 4 cancer battle.

Keep reading to find out more…“We’re going to call him Derek,” Teddi teased to keep his identity a secret. “He’s older than I am.”

She went on to explain that the relationship comes with its own set of challenges as they both have children from past relationships. Teddi shares children Slate, 12, Cruz, 11, and Dove, 6, with ex Edwin Arroyave.

“That’s the thing when you’re dating and you’re both parents,” Teddi said. “Like, how are you ever supposed to get past first base? I have kids in my house. He has kids in his house.”

She also said that she’s approaching this relationship differently than in the past.

“I’m taking it slow with him,” she admitted. “Normally that hasn’t been my past.”

Teddi went on to say that her new boyfriend has been very supportive as she continues undergoing immunotherapy amid her cancer battle.

“He’s pretty good about it,” she said. “He’s a relatively positive and logical person in general.”

“But the thing that I like the most about him, is he makes me laugh,” Teddi added.

She also recalled a recent date night that started at Craig’s in West Hollywood followed by drinks at a speakeasy where she overextended herself.

“There’s another little place like speak easy or whatever they call it. And he’s like, ‘Do you want to go there or are you too tired from your immunotherapy?’” Teddi recalled. “And I was like, ‘I actually have enough energy right now.’ Then I woke up this morning, and I felt like hell.”
