Introducing the New Sandy Ridge Skills Area!

After nearly two years in the making, we’re excited to announce the completion of a brand new skills area located on the forested island in the Sandy Ridge parking lot!

This project is a true reflection of what happens when community, partners, and passion come together. Built through a collaboration between professional trail builders Sasquatch Trails and an incredible crew of NWTA volunteers, this space has been transformed into a progressive, welcoming zone for riders of all levels.

Built by Community, Powered by Partnership

This project wouldn’t have been possible without the generous support of Fat Tire Farm, whose legacy continues to shape the mountain bike community even after closing their doors. Their 40 years of support live on through projects like this. We’re also grateful for the support of Coach Robbie, whose contributions helped bring this vision to life.

The Build

This volunteer effort came together over five dig days, resulting in an incredible 175 volunteer hours on the ground. In just two days, NWTA volunteer machine operators excavated and transported 200 yards of dirt from an on-site location to the new skills area (later to become re-naturalized). From there, a combined team of volunteers and the professional builder shaped the terrain into a dynamic and progressive riding space.
