Upcoming Marvel Special Presentation Gets High-Octane Official Trailer
No matter how far he travels, Frank Castle can't outrun his past. Marvel unveiled the official trailer for its highly anticipated special presentation, titled The Punisher: One Last Kill. Slated to debut after the Daredevil: Born Again Season 2 finale, the presentation sees Jon Bernthal suit up as the titular Punisher, a role the actor has played for a decade. Bernthal first appeared as the character in Daredevil Season 2, which premiered on Mar. 18, 2016, on Netflix. He went on to star in his own series, The Punisher, a two-season affair that concluded on Jan. 18, 2019. After a six-year hiatus, Bernthal returned as Frank Castle in Season 1 of Daredevil: Born Again last year.

In The Punisher: One Last Kill, Frank "searches for meaning beyond revenge" but "an unexpected force pulls him back into the fight." Bernthal co-wrote the script with Reinaldo Marcus Green, who also directed. Bernthal, Green, Louis D'Esposito, and Kevin Feige executive produce the project. Jason R. Moore, Mila Jaymes, Evelyn O. Vaccaro, Chelsea Brea, Roe Rancell, and Dominick Mancino round out the cast. Moore reprises his role as Curtis Hoyle, whom he played in Netflix's The Punisher.

Bernthal has had quite the career boom in recent years. After his breakout as Shane Walsh in AMC's The Walking Dead adaptation, he went on to star in The Wolf of Wall Street, Fury, and Sicario before landing the role of the Punisher. He has been working steadily since, and can next be seen in summer tentpoles Spider-Man: Brand New Day as Frank and in Christopher Nolan's The Odyssey as Menelaus, both of which release in July. Last year, Bernthal spoke with Dax Shepard for the latter's Armchair Expert podcast, crediting his 16-year-long sobriety as the fuel behind his success.
The Punisher: One Last Kill premieres on May 12 on Disney+. Before you go, check out the high-octane first trailer below.
