Despite Peterson’s rough start and the Mets having a long stretch without an off day, Mets manager Carlos Mendoza told reporters that the club is staying with its current five-man rotation.

The Pittsburgh Pirates locked down their top prospect and franchise cornerstone, Konnor Griffin. Pittsburgh and the rookie shortstop agreed to a nine-year, $140 million deal that will keep him in a Pirates uniform until 2034.
