Can the Newly Released $150 Shark ChillPill Fan Save You on a Scorching Theme Park Day? I Found Out

If you purchase an independently reviewed product or service through a link on our website, SheKnows may receive an affiliate commission.

There’s no doubt that I love living in Orlando, however, it is extremely hot. Even with central cooling and consistent fans, I’m always sweating. I’m an avid theme-park goer and spend most of my days at Disney World where it is always pretty hot and musty. I’ve tried cooling towels and handheld fans — sure they help a bit, but they typically don’t do the trick. When I saw that Shark came out with the Shark ChillPill Personal Fan, I knew I had to try it.

I’ve been a fan of the brand’s other high-tech products for quite some time so it seemed like the perfect fit for my lifestyle that consists of attending crowded theme parks and concerts (hello, BTS!). I wouldn’t have it any other way but I could do without being sweaty.

Spoiler alert: I won’t leave my house without the Shark ChillPill Personal Fan in an arms reach. Trust me, it’s that good.

What is the Shark ChillPill Personal Fan?

SHARK CHILLPILL PERSONAL FAN REVIEW (SPRING 2026)

Shark ChillPill Personal Fan

Shark ChillPill Personal Fan is exactly that — a handheld personal fan designed to keep you cool and chill. It’s not just a fan, but a 3-in-1 cooling system with an additional dry touch evaporating mist and cooling plate. It’s worth noting that it’s designed for indoor use, however, it can be used outdoors as long as it’s not exposed to rain or excessive moisture.

According to the brand, the cryo-inspired cooling plate is designed to lower skin temperatures by up to 16°F in seconds on contact. Additionally, the fan can push air up to 25 feet per second and the dry mist is supposed to cool you down without leaving you (or the nearby surfaces) soaking wet.

What’s Inside the Box?

Here’s a quick rundown of what you’ll find when you open your Shark ChillPill™ Personal Fan:

  • Shark ChillPill Fan
  • Fan cap
  • Dry touch misting attachments
  • InstaChill™ cooling plate
  • Charging cable (USB-C)
  • 3 replacement wicks

How to Set Up the Shark ChillPill Personal Fan

SHARK CHILLPILL PERSONAL FAN REVIEW (SPRING 2026)

Shark ChillPill Personal Fan

Although you might be eager to put the Shark ChillPill Personal Fan to the test right away, you’ll want to make sure you know how to set it up.

One side consists of the motor and air system that powers the air flow. On the opposite side, you’ll find the charging port and display.

First, you want to make sure it’s charged. Then, you’ll want to switch off the travel lock which keeps off when not in use. Afterwards, you’ll want to wake up the fan by tapping on the display. The fan levels can be increased by turning the dial clockwise. There’s 10 settings to choose from and the mist can be set to constant or interval depending on preference for easy control.

The fan cap comes already on the device, but the other two attachments (the cooling plate and misting attachment) can be easily put on.

The cooling plate automatically starts at the first setting when the display is touched and can be increased to level two for an even cooler surface. I found it pretty easy to set up — I just watched a few videos online since I’m more of a visual learner, but it did come with a manual guide.

My Review of the Shark ChillPill™ Personal Fan (2026)

As someone who runs hot, the Shark ChillPill Personal Fan has truly been a life saver. It’s small, portable and easy to use. I make sure to charge it at night and then it’s ready for the next day.

For the fan, I found the lowest setting to be too low and the highest to be too much. Personally, my happy medium is around 7. Unlike most fans, this one can move with its hinging barrels so it can be positioned in the direction that best suits your needs. I was able to carry it in my hand as I navigated the theme parks and easily stow it away when going on rides. I also found it easy to prop up on my work desk for a cool breeze — I’m using it now as I write this story.

The cooling plate is my favorite part of the fan. I find that it really cools my body down and lowers my heart rate when I’m having a panic attack when I place it on my neck, wrist and temples as suggested. (It’s worth noting that the cooling plate will automatically turn off after eight minutes.)

The misting pod is also pretty neat and all you have to do is flip the pod, lift the lid, fill with water (14 mL capacity), screw it on, open the nozzle and activate the mist by pressing the display once for constant misting and twice for intermittent. The misting feature and the fan can be used at the same time which is pretty neat for ultimate cooling action. I’m not a fan of getting wet so I rarely use this setting.

My only real complaint is that the fan is pretty loud even when not on the highest setting. It’s fine when walking around Disney World because there’s noise all around, however, if you wanted to bring it into a restaurant or something more quiet, it could be a bit more noticeable.

As for the charge, it lasts me quite a long while. I try to use it in small bursts to preserve the battery life so it can get me through a day at Disney World without running out of power. According to the brand, it can last up to 11 hours on a full charge at the lowest speed and 90 minutes on the highest speed. Initially, I kept my fan on the highest setting and noticed it would die pretty quickly, but eventually I found the sweet spot for the power that would cool me down without draining the battery.

When it comes to charging, it can completely recharge in three and a half hours — it’s not too quick, but it’s also not the slowest I’ve encountered.

Where to Buy the Shark ChillPill™ Personal Fan

While I love my Shark ChillPill™ Personal Fan, there’s no doubt that it is expensive at $150. You can find personal fans on Amazon for less than $20 so it’s definitely an investment. That said, you’re paying for the name, the technology and the style. It’s super chic, lightweight and not an eyesore to look at. It’s available in seven colors including rose gold, carbon, glacier, iced latte, haze and matcha.

You can also opt to buy additional accessories to make it more easy to use like a wristlet or crossbody strap to attach to a purse.

Looking to get one to try for yourself? The Shark ChillPill™ Personal Fan is available for purchase at SharkNinja.com, Ulta Beauty, Best Buy, Amazon, and Target
