College Game Canceled After Tragedy Strikes on Way to Stadium
The Oklahoma State softball team's game against Wichita State, slated for Wednesday night at Wilkins Stadium, was called off after the team bus was involved in a deadly accident.
What Happened?
The team's official X accounted shared that the game had to be postponed "after the Cowgirls' team bus was involved in an accident on the way to Wichita. No one from the OSU travel party was injured."
The team shared that it will announce when the game will be rescheduled.
As for what happened, sources told Oklahoma's KOCO that the team bus struck and killed a woman who was on Interstate 35 in Oklahoma's Noble County.
The tragedy reportedly occurred after authorities had received multiple calls about a woman running in and out of traffic on the highway.

An incident report obtained by the news outlet stated that the fatal accident occurred around 2:05 p.m. on the northbound I-35, which prompted lane closures for more than two hours.
"What we know at this time is that witnesses stated a pedestrian was running in and out of traffic when she was struck by the bus," said Lt. Mark Southall with the Oklahoma Highway Patrol in a statement to 12 News.
