'Going to be a firing': Expert predicts another Trump Cabinet member is on his way out
President Donald Trump's Defense Secretary may be the next cabinet member to depart the administration, even though he just declared "victory" over Iran, according to one expert.
Secretary Pete Hegseth said during a press conference on Wednesday that the U.S. had achieved a “decisive military victory” over Iran. That's despite multiple reports indicating that Iran has continued to strike U.S. allies in the region, and the Strait of Hormuz remains shut. Meanwhile, details of an agreement allegedly struck between the two countries appear to show the U.S. losing influence over Iran. For instance, the White House has considered lifting all sanctions on Iranian oil and removing all U.S. troops from the country, according to reports.
Amid Hegseth's chest pounding over Iran, a retired U.S. Navy intelligence officer named Travis Akers predicted in an interview with The Daily Beast that the Defense Secretary is on his way out because Trump is looking for a "scapegoat" in the war.
"I think Trump is certainly going to look for a scapegoat because he’ll never accept the blame himself," Akers told the outlet. "He’s going to find someone else to pin it on.”
“There’s definitely going to be a firing in the near future," Akers continued.
