European giants director confirms interest in controversial Man United star, move looks ideal
Forward Jadon Sancho is set to leave Manchester United as a free agent this summer, having struggled since joining from Borussia Dortmund in 2021.
His public disagreement with former manager Erik ten Hag, contributed to a turbulent spell at United.
The English forward is currently on loan at Aston Villa, but it is unclear whether the Midlands side will make the move permanent.
Meanwhile, Borussia Dortmund managing director Lars Ricken says the the German side are considering a move for Sancho.
He told Sport Bild: “We are currently dealing with a lot of players and examining them. We check whether they can make us better. We do the same at Jadon.”
Dortmund want to strengthen their attack this summer to reduce the gap to perennial Bundesliga champions Bayern Munich.
Julian Brandt’s imminent departure has also strengthened the case to do so.
Sancho’s creativity in wide areas and ability to operate between the lines make him a good fit for Niko Kovac’s side.
It now remains to be seen whether he will be open to joining them a third time.
The England international broke into the limelight with the Black and Yellow. He was named in the Bundesliga Team of the Season twice before his United move.
He also impressed during his loan to the club for the second half of the 2023/24 season, helping them reach the UEFA Champions League final, where they lost to Real Madrid.
Sancho could reignite his career if he rejoins the five-time Bundesliga champions.
At 26, the English winger could still re-establish himself as one of the highly rated wingers in European football.
