TikTok's New Favorite 2-Ingredient Snack Is the Stuff of Salty & Sweet Dreams
Some of our all-time favorite food trends were started on TikTok. Sure, some ideas are, well, silly (I am not trading my morning coffee for hot water!), but others are downright genius, like the “Ploughman’s lunch.” The latest snack going viral falls into the latter category, as it calls for just two ingredients for the perfectly satisfying salty and sweet taste.
TikToker @juurain shared a video of the viral recipe for Pringles Chocolate Block, and we want to make it ASAP. The recipe calls for original Pringles and a bar of milk chocolate (in the video, she uses a Cadbury Dairy Milk chocolate bar). She breaks the chocolate into chunks and puts it in a bowl, before alternating microwaving and stirring until it melts.
Next, she pours out a small container of Pringles chips on a cutting board. Carefully, she layers Pringles with a drizzle of the melted chocolate, continuing to snack and add one or two chips on top. It takes about 10 minutes to do the entire stack, which isn’t ideal, but the end result is so worth it! When that’s complete, carefully move the stack of chips back into the Pringles can — and pour the remaining melted chocolate directly into the can! Pop it in the freezer and wait until it all solidifies.
At the end of the video, the TikTokker simply peels the Pringles wrapping from the can, freeing the chocolate-covered chip concoction. She cuts into it, revealing the crunchy center. It looks so good — and big enough to share!
In the comments, people praised this recipe, with one person saying, “It’s so freaking good.” Others compared it to mostly eating chocolate with an added crunch. “i think its good because the pringles original doesn’t really taste like anything so ur just gonna taste chocolate✨” they said.
Another TikToker (@kayleighleon) shared a clip of her trying the viral recipe, using dark chocolate Ghirardelli melting chocolate and a full-size can of Pringles. She recommends pouring the entire bag into a bowl and melting and stirring it in increments, then pouring the entire bowl into the Pringles can. She doesn’t line each chip with chocolate, making it even easier to whip together.
After freezing, she uses scissors to cut and remove the wrapping. She cuts it into smaller chunks, then just bites directly into it. “You get the saltiness from the Pringles and then the sweetness from the chocolate and having those two combined is just mwah delicious!” she praised. “The perfect combination.”
In the comments others suggested alternatives, such as dipping the Pringles in the melted chocolate or spreading the chips out on a tray and drizzling chocolate over them. No matter how you prepare it, this snack looks amazing and is definitely going on our shopping list this week.
