Zendaya Turns 30 in September. She Says She’s Already over Her 20s.
Zendaya told Jennifer Hudson this week that she’s ready to leave her 20s behind. She turns 30 on September 1.
Every woman has told me that the 30s are the best. And I feel that way too, because I think 20s can be a little chaotic. You’re figuring so much out. And everybody’s like, 30 is like, you know yourself better. You know what you want. And so I’m looking forward to it. I’m not afraid of it/ I think in my mid-20s, I was like, oh, 30s are on the corner. Girl, what is happening? And now I’m just kind of like, absolutely, let’s get to it. I’m over the 20s now.
She won 2 Emmys for Euphoria before she was 27. She starred in 3 Spider-Man films and 2 Dune films in the same stretch. Challengers came out in 2024. She’s currently filming The Drama with Robert Pattinson and a Ronnie Spector biopic called Be My Baby.
She’s been with Tom Holland since 2021. They got engaged in late 2024. She also told Hudson she’s planning a temporary step back from heavy media and promotion after what she described as a grueling year.
She’s been open about anxiety and shyness throughout her 20s, about periods where basic self-care felt overwhelming. She’s described using fashion as a form of protection, something she and her longtime stylist Law Roach built together as a kind of armor.
Her parents were both educators. She attended Oakland School for the Arts and started as a child model and backup dancer before Disney cast her in Shake It Up when she was 14. She archives costumes, props, and photos from every project for future children or personal reflection.
