Court case evidence proves Deep Staters orchestrated censorship of AMERICANS!
Long has there been the understanding that under the Barack Obama and Joe Biden administrations the U.S. government participated in the censorship of Americans.
During Obama’s administration, he claimed what he didn’t like was “misinformation” and the government’s duty was to prevent people from knowing that.
Under Biden, vast numbers of censorship schemes were run, according to the Media Research Center, including at least 57 operations involving 93 federal agencies.
And now there’s court-documented proof of one of those major players involved, the much-troubled Global Engagement Center.
It is in a report at the Federalist where it’s revealed that “staff with the Global Engagement Center (‘GEC’) told a State Department official that its testbed platform ‘will NOT focus on US audiences,’ but then proceeded to fund a trial targeting The Blaze — a Texas-based media outlet.”
That was uncovered as part of discovery in a lawsuit against the State Department and the GEC, settled just days ago when the defendants agreed to a number of measures to prevent similar constitutional violations from happening again.
The Federalist reported it and the Daily Wire sued the government in 2023 “after learning that the defendants had funded the testing, development, and promotion of censorship technologies that demonetized, denigrated, and limited the reach of the media plaintiffs’ speech.”
The charge was that those efforts were a violation of the Constitution, and more.
Evidence exposed during the work on the lawsuit confirmed that the State Department’s GEC, just as Biden was preparing to take office, gave tax money to three so-called “Countering Propaganda and Disinformation” tech groups: PeakMetrics, NewsGuard, and Omelas.
The Federalist revealed the three companies “collaborated to create a mockup of a joint dashboard incorporating all three companies’ capabilities.”
A “test” then ran from December 2020 through Jan. 7, 2021, with claims that there were “disinformation propagators” running loose.
Offered as examples were Sputnick News and the Blaze.
But the second is an American company, based in Texas, meaning that the GEC’s mandate to monitor foreign comments didn’t include that Texas operation.
“One person” at the State Department noted the improper activities and warned again that the test was “NOT” to focus on U.S. audiences.
To which State responded, “How do you determine if the narratives become integrated into domestic messaging … without analyzing domestic messaging?”
The result of the funding, the report explained, was that “our government financed testing for private technology companies to improve their products — products that target American’s speech and seek to silence domestic media outlets.”
Incidentally, NewsGuard, which alleges it “ranks” hundreds of domestic media outlets, condemned both the Federalist and Daily Wire as “unreliable,” “causing both entities to lose advertising dollars and further limit the reach of their reporting.”
The evidence uncovered, the Federalist said, “should shake Americans awake to the threat to their liberties posed by a government claiming to fight disinformation.”
WorldNetDaily reported in 2025 when Secretary of State Marco Rubio ordered GEC to be closed.
At the time, a leftist judge discovered in the Constitution an authorization that required it to stay open.
It was Susan Illston, a judge in the leftist enclave of San Francisco, who, “through the miraculous powers of an activist judge,” said no.
Illston, in taking over responsibilities of the Executive Branch, claimed, “If the State Department has any question about whether planned actions fall within the scope of the court’s injunction, the court orders the department to first raise those questions with the court before taking action.”
