Four sought in fatal bludgeoning of man, 25, after fight in Avondale tavern
Chicago police are asking for the public's help in identifying four people possibly linked to the bludgeoning of a 25-year-old man who died after a fight in a bar in Avondale last month.
Alexander C. Kazanowski, 25, was found unresponsive on the ground outside at 3942 W. Belmont Ave., with head injuries about 3:20 a.m. on March 24, Chicago police said.
Detectives learned that Kazanowski earlier had been "forcibly removed" from the Tune Up Bar, 3910 W. Belmont Ave., after a fight there, according to a police report.
He was taken to Advocate Illinois Masonic Medical Center in critical condition. Kazanowski, of the 4900 block of West Nelson Avenue, was later pronounced dead at 3:31 p.m., March 28, the Cook County medical examiner’s office said.
An autopsy on March 29 determined Kazanowski died of blunt head trauma from an assault, and his death was ruled a homicide, according to the medical examiner's office.
