Why Kanye West’s Alleged Reaction To Ex Kim Kardashian’s Romance With Lewis Hamilton Vastly Differs From His Pete Davidson Outbursts
Kim Kardashian rode shotgun with her new boo Lewis Hamilton in their first Instagram reel together on Monday, and we can’t help but wonder: what does Kardashian’s ex-husband Kanye West think about their new romance? Insiders reveal the “Stronger” rapper had a surprising reaction to their public debut, and it’s a complete 180 from the past.
A source told Page Six that West actually likes the Formula 1 driver for Kardashian. “This is a good thing,” the insider said. “Kanye [isn’t] questioning ‘Is Lewis a good person?’ He’s a sweet, smart person, a good person and an incredible athlete.”
Apparently, Hamilton is already an “acquaintance” of West, which is probably why he has such a glowing review of the man.
West, who shares kids North, 12, Saint, 10, Chicago, 8, and Psalm, 6, with Kardashian, reportedly doesn’t mind Hamilton hanging out with his kids. “He feels at peace right now with Lewis being around his kids,” the source told the outlet. “He was trustful about that. He loves [Kardashian] in a way that he wants [the best for] her wellbeing.”
This is very different from how West acted when Kardashian dated Pete Davidson and publicly made fun of him online in in his music. Reflecting on West’s past actions and outbursts, the insider said that the “Heartless” rapper “was traumatized because he lost the love of his life” and admits that he “brought a lot of chaos” to Kardashian and “to the world.”
If you’ve been keeping up with the Kardashians, then you know this is an understatement with his history of making racist, antisemitic comments online and disparaging his ex wife. In a Dec. 2025 episode of The Kardashians, the SKIMS founder admitted that co-parenting is “hard,” adding, “Sometimes I just feel like snapping, but I can’t. I just can’t.”
Kardashian also talked about West in an Oct. 2025 appearance on Call Her Daddy, where she called her relationship with West “toxic.” “I had to save myself in order to be a better mom for everyone,” she explained.

As for Kardashian’s relationship with Hamilton, things seem to be going better. The couple went to the Super Bowl together in February, where a lip reader analyzed a telling moment between Hamilton and Kardashian. “No, I don’t take just any girl to my mom, I mean, you’re gonna meet someday, she is very excited to see you,” Nicola Hickling claimed that Hamilton told the All’s Fair actress at the event, per Daily Mail.
In March, a source dished about their relationship to Us Weekly, “They are going strong and really happy. Lewis is head over heels and those closest to him believe he has finally met his match.” They added, “He has waited over a decade for his dream girl and is crazy about her.”
“They are both very committed to making things work no matter how long the distance is or how busy they are,” the source added. “Because their relationship started with a friendship first, those closest to them believe this could be endgame for them both.”
