Andy Serkis Confirmed to Return as Alfred Pennyworth in 'The Batman Part II'
Andy Serkis will return to play Alfred Pennyworth in The Batman Part II.
The 61-year-old actor is set to play Bruce Wayne’s beloved butler once again when the sequel film starts shooting in June in London.
According to Deadline, there was some behind-the-scenes reconciliation required to ensure Andy‘s production on set of The Batman II would not interfere with his New Line movie Lord of the Rings: The Hunt for Gollum, which will be released on December 17, 2027. It seems like they’ve managed to make it so he can do both shoots.

Andy previously spoke with outlets Collider and Screen Rant about the film. He told Collider he was “pretty certain it’s all going to work out,” and that they were working on it, but “it’s all looking good,” earlier this month.
To Screen Rant, he said he wouldn’t be joining The Batman II shoot “immediately,” but “by the end of the year, I will be.”
The Batman II cast also includes Robert Pattinson in the title role, Colin Farrell as The Penguin, Scarlett Johansson, and Sebastian Stan as Harvey Dent.
The 2022 film from director and co-writer Matt Reeves earned more than $772 million at the box office and also produced the spinoff series The Penguin, which won multiple Emmys.
Speaking of the upcoming Lord of the Rings movie, it has been confirmed that Viggo Mortensen is not returning and his role of Aragorn will be recast.
