Who Went Home on 'American Idol' on April 6? Three Singers Cut in Two Separate Eliminations
Three contestants were sent home on American Idol‘s latest live episode, with two singers cut right at the beginning and one more eliminated at the end of the night.
Last week’s episode, which was the first live one of the season, was supposed to end with the elimination of two singers. Due to issues with tallying the votes, producers made the last second decision to delay the results until the next episode so they could properly count every vote.
After the first two singers were eliminated in the April 6 episode, the Top 12 contestants performed their songs.
The theme this week was music from the 90s and it was also the Judge’s Song Contest. The three judges – Carrie Underwood, Lionel Richie, and Luke Bryan – each had to select a song for the contestants to perform and the contestants ultimately had the final choice of which song to sing.
At the end of the night, Lionel was the judge who had the most songs selected and he was given the power of saving someone from the Bottom 2.
