Goo Goo Dolls cancel Laval show, rest of Canadian tour due to illness
Rock band Goo Goo Dolls have cancelled a concert in Laval later this week, along with the rest of their Canadian tour, due to illness.
Singer John Rzeznik, 60, has been diagnosed with pneumonia and has not fully recovered, the band said in a post on social media.
Goo Goo Dolls, which came to prominence in the late 1990s, were scheduled to play Place Bell in Laval on Wednesday.
“We are very disappointed and can’t wait to get back to Canada as soon as possible,” the band said, adding that tickets can be returned to the point of purchase for a refund.
The group was scheduled to play Ottawa on Monday, with dates in Halifax and Moncton scheduled for later in the week.
The band, known for hits “Iris” and “Name,” played in London, Ont. on Saturday after cancelling concerts in Sault Ste. Marie, Oshawa and Hamilton due to the illness affecting Rzeznik.
