The highest and lowest Tottenham could be in the Premier League table by next week is vast
Tottenham Hotspur face a defining weekend in their fight for survival, with the Premier League table capable of shifting dramatically depending on results elsewhere.
Roberto De Zerbi has a big task on his hands as Tottenham Hotspur look to avoid relegation this season following their abysmal campaign thus far.
The former Brighton manager will be hoping his side gets off to a flying start in his first game when they travel to the Stadium of Light to take on Sunderland.
Spurs already managed a draw against the Black Cats earlier this season, but things are very different from when the two sides last met.
Tottenham face crucial Sunderland clash in relegation battle
At the moment, Tottenham are without a win so far this calendar year and are the most out-of-form side in the relegation scrap, having picked up no wins in their last twenty outings.
But next weekend’s clash is absolutely crucial for Spurs, with the result of that game set to set the tone for the rest of the season.

A victory against the newly promoted side would no doubt boost the confidence of De Zerbi’s men, who already fell short last time out against Nottingham Forest in their relegation six-pointer.
There could also be an added boost for Spurs, who could find themselves as high as 15th in the league table with a win on Sunday if results elsewhere go their way.
Should Tottenham win, and both Forest and Leeds United lose, Spurs could leapfrog both and move into 15th place.

Spurs must capitalise as rivals face tough fixtures
However, a defeat next weekend could spell disaster for the Lilywhites, especially if West Ham United win their own encounter.

Of all the sides in the relegation scrap, the Hammers have the easiest fixture in gameweek 32 as they take on bottom-placed Wolves.
Nottingham Forest face Aston Villa, who are in fourth place, while Leeds take on Manchester United, who sit third.

It is very possible that one of Leeds or Forest drops points and, should that happen, Tottenham must be ready to capitalise, especially given the relatively easy fixture for West Ham.
