A Prayer To Release, Repent, And Receive This Lent
Finding peace starts with surrendering our worries to the universe and trusting that God’s guidance will meet us in the middle of our uncertainty. Best-selling author of Finding God Every Day, Rebecca Simon, reminds us to trust God’s timing, embrace patience, and lean on His presence through every season of life.
Lent isn’t just about giving something up — it’s about making space for God to do something new in you.
God,
As I enter this season of Lent, I come to you with open hands — ready to release what I’ve been holding too tightly, ready to repent for the ways I’ve wandered from you, and ready to receive everything you want to do in my heart over these next 40 days.
I release the habits pulling me away from you. I release the relationships that drain me. I release the need to control outcomes I was never meant to carry. God, take it all.
I repent for the times I chose my way over yours. For letting fear, pride, or comfort keep me from obeying you. For making idols out of things that were never meant to satisfy me. Forgive me, God. Cleanse my heart. Restore it.
I’m ready to receive, God. Receive your grace. Receive your peace. Receive the transformation you want to work in me during this season. Use these 40 days to draw me closer, refine me deeper, and prepare me for everything ahead.
I’m all in, God. Change me.
Amen.
