2 Golfers Abruptly Withdrew From Valero Texas Open
The Valero Texas Open is the final chance for golfers to either qualify for the Masters or make their final tuneups before the year's first major.
Despite its importance, the tournament suffered a rash of withdrawals before the first round teed off on Thursday morning.
8 Golfers Initially Withdrew Before Valero Texas Open Teed Off
Pierceson Coody, Nicolai Hojgaard and Matti Schmid all withdrew from the Valero Texas Open which opened the door for Taylor Moore, Joel Dahmen and Sam Ryder, respectively on Sunday. Just a day later, Gary Woodland withdrew and Jackson Suber earned a new place in the tournament.
Daniel Berger, Collin Morikawa, David Lipsky and Ricky Castillo joined soon after and opened the door for Lanto Griffin, Frankie Capan III, Carson Young and Chan Kim to earn spots in the field.
But that's not all.

The Valero Texas Open was hit by a inclement weather on multiple occasions this weekend leading to the second round of the tournament being pushed into Saturday morning.
Two golfers with no chance to make the cut in their final few holes decided it wasn't worth staying an extra night just to complete their seconds rounds and head home on Saturday monring.
Webb Simpson and Lucas Glover, who both sat at three-over and well outside the cut line, opted to withdraw from the tournament rather than stick around.
Poor Weather Leads to More Delays
The third round of the Valero Texas Open was also delayed due to heavy rain and thunderstorms rolling through the San Antonio area. After providing a number of updates suggesting the tournament would resume play on Saturday, the PGA Tour officially decided not to resume play, leaving 30 holes left to play for leader Robert MacIntyre.
It's unclear if he'll be able to play all 30 holes on Sunday or if the tournament will dip into Monday morning.
