The CW Stars Candice King & Steven Krueger Are Married: All About Their Intimate Nashville Wedding!

Candice King and Steven Krueger are married!

The actors both starred in the same CW franchise, but never met until attending a cast reunion dinner in 2023. Candice starred in The Vampire Diaries while Steven was on the spinoff series The Originals.

“We circled around each other for years as we both lived in Atlanta and worked on The Vampire Diaries and The Originals,” Steven told Vogue. “We like to joke that we were probably in the same room a dozen times and never noticed each other… Suddenly, it was this instant mutual feeling of: ‘Hi, where the hell have you been.’ Invisible string theory at its finest.”

The couple got engaged in April 2025 and they were planning a Fall 2026 wedding, but then Candice got pregnant and they decided to elope in a 15-person intimate ceremony in Nashville.

“We decided to have a small elopement-style weekend in Nashville with just our immediate families, and save the bigger celebration for sometime next year,” Steven said.

The ceremony took place at The Chapel at High Point Farm and the reception happened at Jeff Ruby’s Steakhouse.

“The cherry on top was one of our mutual best friends, Carina MacKenzie, flying in to officiate for us! We had 15 people in total, including Candice’s daughters and my two nieces. And it was perfect,” Steven said.

Candice shares two daughters with ex-husband Joe King, the guitarist for the band The Fray. She shared that finding a wedding dress was not easy as she’s currently pregnant.

“Shockingly, there’s not a huge market for wedding dresses that fit over a baby bump,” she said. “I was quite nervous to find a dress that would make me feel bridal and maternal — and not like the ‘Stay Puft Marshmallow Man’ from Ghostbusters bouncing down the aisle.”
