Season Has Been ‘Relentless’ Feels Leeds United Star

Leeds United striker Lukas Nmecha has admitted the season has been relentless for the Whites ahead of an important FA Cup quarter-final clash against West Ham United.
The 27-year-old joined Leeds in the summer transfer window last year as a free agent after leaving German side Wolfsburg.
He has featured regularly for the Whites this season, scoring seven goals and registering three assists across all competitions, repaying Daniel Farke’s faith.
Former Leeds boss Simon Grayson recently praised Nmecha, insisting he brings a different dimension to Farke’s team due to his physical attributes.
Farke’s side are set to face West Ham United on Sunday in the FA Cup, marking their first appearance at the quarter-final stage of the competition in 23 years.
If the Whites overcome West Ham, they will return to Wembley for the FA Cup semi-final, having last reached that stage in 1987.
The Hammers are their first Premier League opponents in the FA Cup this season, as all earlier opponents were Championship sides.
Nmecha pointed out that the intensity of the season has required careful squad management, with rotation playing a key role in reducing the physical load on players involved regularly in league matches.
He also highlighted the positive impact of the FA Cup run on the squad, stressing the importance of maintaining focus and taking games one at a time during a demanding period.
Nmecha told BBC Radio Leeds: “This season has definitely been relentless.
“We have had to rotate a lot in the cup competitions to reduce the load on the players who are playing more in the Premier League, but this FA Cup run has definitely been really good for the squad.
“We have maybe seen a slightly different style of football in the cups compared to the league, and we have shown that we are still able to do the things we were doing last season.
“It is important to take games as they come and to not read into them too much.
“Our goal for this game is just to win.”
Following the quarter-final, Leeds will face a tough test against Manchester United at Old Trafford on 13th April in their next league fixture.
There will be another clash with their fierce rivals in pre-season, with the two clubs also set to go head to head in Dublin.
Manchester United director of football Jason Wilcox has already admitted the pre-season game is one he is excited about.
Leeds will hope when they line up for the game that they do so as a Premier League side, though Farke has insisted that desire will not stop him fielding a strong team against West Ham.
