Jharkhand Launches Large-Scale Freshwater Prawn Farming to Meet Demand
Jharkhand is boosting local prawn production, releasing 23 lakh seeds into nine dams for a second phase of farming. This initiative aims to meet high demand, reduce imports, and significantly increase fish farmers' income. The project, a collaboration with ICAR, expects over 10 tonnes of harvest, with potential for expansion into ponds and future exports.
