Former top-flight star Brian Graham believes that Rangers will see the best of manager Danny Rohl next season when he gets the players to fit his preferred system.
Rohl was appointed in October after a poor start for Rangers under Russell Martin saw them slide down the league ladder and pull the plug on the former MK Dons boss.
The German brought in some much-needed positivity into the squad, with players coming out to praise his influence on the team.
Canada defender Derek Cornelius revealed that during the initial stages, it was more meetings with Rohl than time on the training pitch.
Gers goalkeeper Liam Kelly also lauded Rohl for his calm nature and drama-free approach, something which hugely settled down the Rangers dressing room.
Now with a January transfer window under his belt and four new signings coming through the door, Rangers are well in the race to win the Scottish Premiership title.
Graham, though, believes that the club have not seen the best of Rohl yet and he will only put down a real marker when he puts his stamp on the team in the summer transfer window.
“I think you will see the best of Danny Rohl next season after he has a pre-season with the players, brings in the players that he wants to fit whatever system he has”, Graham said on Clyde 1’s Superscoreboard (21.56).
“And then you will probably see a better style of play from Rangers.
“At the beginning he had to come in through the door nice and early, had to win straight away to get the fans on side and play a particular way to try and get results.
“I think he has tried to tweak a few things in January. But still I believe that is not the way he wants to do it.
“But he is doing a formula where he is trying to win games to get Rangers to win the title.
“He has put them in a great position to potentially do it.
“But I still believe Rangers will see the best of Danny Rohl next year.”
Rohl only previously managed Sheffield Wednesday prior to taking the Rangers job, leading many to raise their eyebrows at the Gers appointing him.
One former top flight star recently suggested that Rohl is often too negative within games and it remains to be seen if that comes back to bite Rangers in the title race.
How much cash Rohl gets to spend in the summer transfer window is likely to be highly dependent on whether Rangers can qualify for the lucrative Champions League.
