Nicosia-Kyrenia motorway partially closed until end of month
The motorway which connects Nicosia and Kyrenia will remain closed between the Kioneli roundabout and the new junction linking it to the northern Nicosia ring road until the end of the month, the Turkish Cypriot police said on Saturday.
The section of motorway will be closed due to maintenance works.
As such, motorists heading from the capital to Kyrenia will not be able to join the motorway at the Kioneli roundabout, as they usually would.
The Turkish Cypriot police recommend that people access the motorway from the northern Nicosia ring road. It can be accessed from either Yerolakkos or Mia Milia.
Those crossing northwards from the Ayios Dhometios crossing point most easily able to find it by turning left at the first roundabout after the crossing point, going straight over the next two roundabouts they find, turning right at the third, before turning left at the next roundabout to briefly join the motorway connecting Nicosia and Morphou.
From there, they will be able to join the ring road by turning right at the first roundabout they encounter.
Those driving from northern Nicosia can join the ring road either by driving northwards up Near East boulevard, or by joining the motorway connecting Nicosia and Famagusta in an easterly direction until they reach Mia Milia.
