Influencer Abby Howard Says Losing Virginity on Wedding Night Doesn't Have to Be 'Negative' Experience: 'Never Once Awkward'

Influencer Abby Howard is sharing insight into what it’s like to have sex for the first time on your wedding night.

The 26-year-old is currently expecting a baby with husband Matt Howard and talked about what their first time as newlyweds was really like on the Friday (April 3) episode of her podcast Always Here.

Her sister-in-law, who she co-hosts with, asked her about what advice she would share on her wedding night. Abby chimed in with a lot of reassurance to any other women who might be abstaining until they’re married.

She started by saying that there is a lot of “negative” messaging toward waiting until your first night.

“They’re like, ‘it’s going to be so awkward. It’s going to be so, like, embarrassing and it’s going to be terrible. It’s not going to work,’” she recalled people telling her.

“I just think that’s not true, you guys,” Abby continued. “And at least in our experience, that was just the furthest thing from the truth.”

She said there is certainly a lot of “excitement” over something new, but you’re not as “nervous” as you might expect because you’re “with your person.”

The social media star added, “There’s just so much comfort towards that… so much history, so much relationship, and you know they’re not looking for anything other than to connect with you.”

Further clarifying her own experience vs. people’s expectations, Abby said that it was “beautifully intimate, special, wholesome, never once awkward.”

“Like we certainly laughed,” she continued, “we’re experiencing new things together,” but Abby noted that you don’t have to believe it’s going to “look like the movies” to enjoy it because it will be a uniquely special and intimate night between you and your partner.
